About

Hi, I’m Macy Veil, a Brazil-based screenwriter.

My work moves through philosophical science fiction, dystopian narratives, psychological drama, and surreal horror — stories shaped by sound design, natural environments, distant human presence, and the weight of what goes unsaid.

Inspired by the ambition and obsession of Kubrick, the emotional restraint of Villeneuve, the dark absurdism of Lanthimos, and the stark emotional honesty of Martin Rosen, I write toward a cinema where atmosphere does the work. Meaning earns its arrival. A curated list of Films That Shaped My Voice can be found on Letterboxd.

My process begins before the page — inhabiting each scene’s texture and internal logic before committing it to words.

Open to international productions and to directors who approach cinema with the precision of an engineer.
