Hi, I’m Macy Veil, a Brazil-based screenwriter.
My work moves between philosophical science fiction, dystopian narratives, psychological drama, and surreal horror. I’m drawn to stories shaped as much by their environments, sound, and silences as by their characters, exploring the tension between what we see and what we understand.
My work is influenced by Kubrick’s ambition and obsession, Villeneuve’s emotional restraint, Lanthimos’s dark absurdism, and Martin Rosen’s stark emotional honesty. I’m interested in cinema that trusts its audience, where images carry meaning, atmosphere shapes the experience, and not everything needs to be said.
My process begins before the page. I take time to understand a scene’s texture, rhythm, and internal logic, considering what can be seen, heard, and felt to create a believable, immersive world before turning to dialogue.
I’m open to international productions and collaborations with directors who approach cinema with precision, intention, and a clear point of view.

Feature and episodic screenwriting, short-form scripts, game writing, and adaptations. I can develop an existing concept, transform source material into a screenplay, or build narrative material for an interactive project. For games, this can include branching dialogue, narrative states, and implementation-aware writing.
